As per the lunar calendar, every year we celebrate Jyeshtha Maas Mangalwar (Tuesday) as Bade Mangalwar because on this auspicious day, Hanuman Ji met Shri Ram in the forest (van) during his exile period when he was searching for Mata Sita.
Therefore, it is believed that whoever performs puja on this Mangalwar (Tuesday), Hanuman Ji protects them and fulfils all their wishes and also relieves them of mangal dosh. Or the ill effect of the planet Mars. This is why it has become a tradition among the masses that this Jyeshtha Maas Mangalwar should be celebrated as Bade Mangalwar.
Also, there is one more theory that Hanuman Ji sees the sun as his guru. During summer, when the Sun's heat is at its peak, Hanuman Ji's powers also get amplified and magnified. Therefore, worshipping him during these days becomes important.
Special for 2026: This year, this month falls under Adhik Maas (extra lunar month); therefore, there will be 8 Mangalwars in 2026, making it an exceptionally powerful time for Hanuman Ji's worship.
