- The Masik Krishna Janmashtami story is rooted in the same epic legend: the divine birth of Bhagwan Krishna to destroy evil and restore dharma.
- According to Hindu scriptures, Mathura was once ruled by the cruel king Kansa. One day, a divine prophecy revealed that the eighth son of his sister Devaki would become the cause of his downfall. Filled with fear, Kansa imprisoned Devaki and her husband Vasudeva.
- As the years passed, Kansa killed each of their children. But when the time came for the birth of the eighth child, Bhagwan Vishnu himself appeared as Shri Krishna. It is said that on a dark Ashtami night, Krishna was born inside the prison. At that very moment, the prison guards fell asleep, the chains opened, and the locked doors unlocked on their own.
- Following divine instructions, Vasudeva carried baby Krishna across the Yamuna River to Gokul and placed him in the care of Nanda Baba and Yashoda Maiya. As Bhagwan Krishna grew up, he performed many divine leelas and protected his devotees from various dangers. In time, he fulfilled the prophecy by defeating the cruel King Kansa and freeing the people of Mathura from his tyranny.
