If life keeps pushing you back no matter how hard you try if setbacks arrive just when things are about to turn it may be Shani. Not as a curse. As a call. Learn how to honour Him, and watch everything change. Every Saturday at Shri Navgrah Shani Dev Mandir near Triveni Ghat in Ujjain, this sacred Shani Maharaj puja is performed under the guidance of Pujya Acharya Pt. Vasudev ji Shastri for devotees who wish to seek the blessings and protection of Bhagwan Shani from their home itself. The puja is performed specifically in your name and for your personal prayer and intention. It begins with a Sankalp, where your full name, gotra (ancestral lineage), and heartfelt prayers are offered before Shani Maharaj. This sacred step creates a personal spiritual connection between you and the puja being performed on your behalf. As the ritual begins, traditional offerings connected with Bhagwan Shani, such as sarson ka tel (mustard oil), kale til (black sesame seeds), kala vastra (black cloth), urad dal, and iron items, are offered with devotion. Throughout the puja, a sesame oil deepak continues to burn while Shani Stotram and Shani Chalisa are recited continuously. The puja concludes with Aarti, where your name and prayers are once again offered before Shani Maharaj with complete devotion. Once the entire puja is completed, the full video of the puja is shared directly with you on WhatsApp.
In Sanatan Dharma, Bhagwan Shani is one of the most misunderstood deities. People get worried when they hear about Sade Sati, Dhaiyya, or Shani Mahadasha. But as per Hindu tradition, Bhagwan Shani is the deity of karma who teaches people through life experiences and never punishes without reason. Many Sanatanis believe that performing Shani Maharaj puja will provide relief from hardships, especially during challenging astrological phases like the 7.5-year Sade Sati or 2.5-year Dhaiyya. It is also believed that performing this puja will bring stability back into life, and reduce anxiety and financial struggles.
Shri Navgrah Shani Dev Mandir is located near Triveni Ghat in the holy city of Ujjain, one of the seven Moksha-giving cities in Hindu tradition. This temple is believed to be around 2000 years old and is known by many devotees as Navgrah Temple or Triveni Shani Mandir. According to local beliefs, the temple was built during the time of king Vikramaditya near the banks of the Shipra River. The temple is considered very special because here Shani Maharaj is worshipped in the form of Bhagwan Shiv, which is rare and different from many other Bhagwan Shani temples. Another reason this place is considered highly sacred is that Triveni Ghat is located nearby, where the rivers Shipra, Gandaki, and Saraswati meet.
Every puja is performed in India by verified pandits at sacred temples, following authentic Vedic vidhi. In this way, we are able to play our part in supporting our local priests and the Indian spiritual tradition.
